What We Do

As part of the India Millet Initiative, we have developed a special program to encourage farmers to participate in millet production. The program spreads awareness and enrolls new farmers, expanding cultivation into both traditional and non-traditional areas.

We help farmers adopt the best cultivation methods and technologies to improve their yields. We also promote better pest control management—an often-neglected aspect—to prevent crop losses from pests such as shoot flies, stem borers, and grain mold.

Additionally, we are creating seed hubs for breeding and seed production, recognizing this as a critical area for ensuring demand-driven millet cultivation. We are also collaborating with technology development institutes to advance quality millet processing, storage, and the development of various millet-based products.
