Inauguration Ceremony Celebrating International Year of Millets 2023 by India Millet Initiative and RARI (Rajasthan Agricultural Research Institute)

30th Jan Event Purpose of Program:

To celebrate the International Year of Millet 2023, declared by the honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This program is to create an awareness and focuses on “ Bringing back Millets” to the caloric rich diet by increasing the high yield varieties, the hybrid technology of seed, Pre-harvest and Post-harvest management, value addition and to commercialize the millet based products globally. This is the inaugural session organized by “INDIA MILLET INITATIVE & RAJASTHAN AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE, DURGAPURA” to mainstreaming the millet in the right direction.

Objectives

• To promote the production of high quality bio-fortified seeds for millets.

• Research and development on Hybrid variety for millets.

• Sensitizing the farmers for the value addition and package of practices of pearl millet in the Rajasthan Area.

• Bringing back our old traditional food which is almost forgotten.

• To secure the Nutritional and food security together.

• To understand the health of Millets.

• To highlight the various government support for the food processing sector( Millets).

• To make the value addition more innovative and technical strong like other food product processing.
