Why International Decade of Millets

India Millet Initiative conceptualised the International Decade of Millets 2024-2034 to take forward the initiative and efforts taken during the International Year of Millets (IYoM 2023). IDoM 2024-2034 was announced in the USA at the University of Nebraska Lincoln while formalising the Indo-US Millet Initiative with the University of Nebraska, The Daugherty Water For Food, North American Millet Alliance, and Sorghum United.

WAY FORWARD :

International Decade of Millets

India Millet Initiative will set up Chapters in each state of India with a common goal for ten years with an annual activity calendar to address all the issues of the whole value chain and supply chain. As a next step to take Indian Millets to the globe, India Millet Initiative will open commercial centers in all the potential countries that supported the International Year of Millets 2023.

You will be happy to learn that India Millet Initiative will be a project of HPMI India Millet Association (HPMI IMA) with effect from 18th March, 2026.

INDIA MILLET ASSOCIATION is a Section 8 Company (non-profit organization). The details will be available on www.indiamilletinitiative.com after 18th March, 2026.

It will open various options to join as Life Members, Beneficiary Members, Student/Researcher Members, Individual Members, and Institutional Members.

HPMI IMA will have many projects like INTERNATIONAL DECADE OF MILLETS 2024-2034.

International Events (Annual International Conference in India or in any other partner country during the month of November every year).

National Annual Seminar during summers for SAARC or South East Asian countries.

Milletpreneurship Development Program for National as well as International participants at UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE, RAICHUR, Karnataka; STATE HORTICULTURE UNIVERSITY, KODAGU, Karnataka; CAREER POINT UNIVERSITY, Hamirpur, HP; Jaipur National University, Jaipur; PEOPLE's University, Bhopal.

Esteemed Technical Resource Persons / Agencies :

Are invited to express their interest for empanelment as a Resource Person / Agency on pre-defined commercial terms for the register members of HPMI IMA (after 18th March, 2026) for providing their technical supports as and and when required .
